Privacy in Bounce Tax

Bounce Tax is a game with no account and no server of its own. Your progress is a file on your iPhone. Three things do reach the outside world, all of them Apple's or Google's rather than ours, and each has its own section below: Game Center, if you sign in; the App Store, if you buy something; and advertising.

1. What Bounce Tax stores

What is kept

One save file: your coins and gems, which upgrades you have bought, which balls you have unlocked and which one is equipped, your best depth, missions and achievements, daily-reward state, and your sound, music and haptics settings. Nothing that identifies you, because the game never asks — there is no name, email, age, sign-up or profile anywhere in it.

Where it is kept

In the app's own sandboxed container on your iPhone, through the standard iOS storage the app is given. It is not synced to a server of ours, because there is no server of ours. Bounce Tax has no account system, no backend and no telemetry endpoint.

No analytics

The game has no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK. Its internal event interface has no destination attached: no events are sent anywhere, because there is nowhere for them to go.

2. Game Center

Bounce Tax has one leaderboard, for deepest single dive in whole metres. Signing in to Game Center is optional: iOS offers it once, and if you decline or are signed out the game carries on exactly as before — every Game Center call is a no-op, nothing is submitted, and the leaderboard button simply opens nothing.

If you are signed in, the game submits one number after a run — the distance — to Apple's Game Center, which keeps the highest. Your Game Center nickname and how it is displayed are Apple's, not ours; we never receive your Apple Account, your real name or an identifier for you. Game Center is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, and you can leave the leaderboard or turn Game Center off in iOS Settings.

3. Purchases

Bounce Tax sells optional gem packs and two bundles through the App Store. Every transaction is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit: we never see your name, card, billing address or any other payment detail. The game is told only that a purchase completed, and writes the resulting coins, gems and items into the save file on your device. Restore in the shop asks Apple which non-consumable purchases you own, not us.

Bounce Tax does not sell an ad-removal purchase, so nothing you buy changes the advertising described below.

4. Advertising

The provider

The provider is Google AdMob, one advertising SDK, with no mediation partners. There are two kinds of placement and no others — no banners, no app-open ads, no native ads:

Google's own privacy disclosures apply to the ad request itself: see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Non-personalised, and why

Every ad request Bounce Tax makes sets non-personalised ads only, everywhere and for everyone, not only where a law requires it. The game does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt and does not link the tracking-transparency library, so the advertising identifier is not available to it: personalised advertising is not merely declined, it is unavailable. Non-personalised inventory earns less, and that is accepted deliberately.

Because personalised advertising is never requested, there is no consent for the game to ask you for and no in-app consent form to show. Where Google determines that a message is required in your region, it is presented by Google's own User Messaging Platform inside the Google Mobile Ads SDK rather than by anything we wrote. If an ad request cannot be made, the game simply runs without ads.

How to change your choices

In iOS Settings → Privacy & Security you can turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track and switch off Personalised Ads under Apple Advertising, and in Settings → Bounce Tax you can review the permissions the app has. Google's own controls for the advertising you see are at My Ad Center. Nothing in Bounce Tax needs to change for any of that to take effect.

What the advertising SDK is told about you

Nothing that Bounce Tax knows. It is passed no save data, no score, no depth, no currency balance, no upgrade, no achievement and no setting. What Google's SDK receives is what it collects for itself on any iOS device — device and OS characteristics, coarse network information, an IP address, and the install-attribution signal Apple mediates through SKAdNetwork.

5. No tracking

Bounce Tax does not track you across apps or websites, in Apple's specific sense of the word or any other. There is no App Tracking Transparency prompt because there is nothing it could ask for: the app declares no tracking usage description and ships no tracking library. SKAdNetwork — Apple's privacy-preserving install attribution — is the only attribution mechanism present, and it is not tracking.

6. Children

Bounce Tax is a general-audience arcade game rated 4+. It is not directed at children under 13, is not part of the Kids Category, and does not claim child-directed treatment in AdMob. We collect no data from anyone, children included. It has no chat, no user-generated content and no social features beyond the Game Center leaderboard, which is optional and run by Apple.

7. Data deletion

Deleting the app removes its container, and with it the save file and every setting. There is nothing held anywhere else by us, because nothing was ever sent anywhere else — we have no copy to delete on request, and no account to close. A Game Center score is held by Apple, not by us; you can remove it through Game Center in iOS Settings.
